A Family Business

Welcome to 45 Hound Black Distillery, where Kerrie and John Kerr traded in their hard hats and spreadsheets from the Oil and Gas industry for botanicals and barrels.

Nestled in the northeast of Scotland, their venture (launched in January 2020), has been a labour of love—and a fair bit of trial and error—resulting in the Shenanigan range. Here, top-notch quality, cheeky humour, and vibrant artwork come together to create spirits that even your most judgmental friend would love.

The Shenanigan range was designed for every occasion, with gins that CONSIST a casual 24%,  a bold 57%, A STUNNING 75%,  dark fruits and pink gins ......the portfolio, NEVER DRAWS BREATH.

THE FUTURE..? a future promise of a suite of rums, vodkas, & tequilas. Yummy..!

Kerrie and John have poured their hearts (and probably a few drops of gin) into mastering the art of distilling, learning the ropes from the ground up, making plenty of mistakes, and turning those mistakes into MEMORY-worthy spirits.

Naming the distillery was a no-brainer. With three greyhounds at home—two of them retired racers—they figured they’d give their hounds a place in the spotlight, too.....It’s rumoured these speedy pups might even get their own page on the website soon. Fun fact: 45 mph is their max speed, though you’d never know it, considering they spend 23 hours a day lounging on the sofa.
